"In this collection of essays the author explores and interprets the fabric of his experiences with life. It is about a teacher who got more from his students than he could give them. He believes that the time \'wasted\' for not so useful purposes or pursuits gives a different kind of sense of fulfillment.

Kolkata for him is a live city with heart, lungs, brain, nervous system, and neural network. For him man is incomplete if he doesn\'t use all his capacities. The interpretation of gravitation law in the sphere of human relationship is simple: simplify your life; the laws of the universe will be simpler. The space between opposites where "nothing" exists is essential for understanding. Rather than being perplexed by opposites, one might adopt the attitude of reconciliation between opposites.

Beauty is in the eyes of a beholder. If you yourself are the beholder, how can you not be beautiful? Happiness can be acquired by minimizing desires and expectations and maximizing reality and flexibility. \'Whom would you vote for Mr. Gupta?\' reflects common man\'s belief that the world can be a better place if more upright individuals come to the forefront of public affairs. A humane organization grows when in has \'will\' to grow and survive, when it has learnt the meaning of seeing the world beyond its own image. An organization dies when the world it has known and its sense of self become meaningless.

\'Beyond the visible\' is about the people who cannot see; sometimes these people develop faculties, which enable them to see much better than the \'eyed\' people. For a person who is dying the most meaningful thing would be to be with people who recognize in him essence beyond his body. As long as we exist death should not be with us. It will happen one day, but that day is far off, God willing." (jacket)
