Malnutrition: A Double Burden
Optimal nutrition is critical to the attainment of healthy physical growth, human capital and sustainable development. Malnutrition is a major health problem causes premature mortality and morbidities in many of the developing countries and contributes more than half of all global burdens. The coexistence in individual and/or population level of double burden of malnutrition representing the opposite sides of the energy balance equation presents a unique challenge for public health policy and interventions. The present edited volume is the synthesis of nineteen well-postulated research manuscripts contributed by social scientists, eminent anthropologists and health professionals to acquaint the book readers on public health and nutritional issues in population.
