The seed or planting materials are the vital need of the Indian farmers in every corner of the country. If this requirement is fulfilled, our farmers can definitely increase the yield potential manifold. Quality seed and planting material, perhaps, the most important impediments in increasing the production of horticultural crops, influence the output from other inputs like fertilizers, water, pesticides etc. The efforts made by the farmers become futile, if true-to-type, healthy and disease free seed and planting material are not used. Therefore, both quality seed and planting material assume more significance in the development of horticulture. In the prime need of quality material the book i.e. ‘Textbook of Mirco Propagation Technologies for Horticultural Crops’ is written to covers all the recent technologies developed for the fast multiplication of horticultural plants. Micro propagation of fruit crops like banana, citrus, lasora, sweet cherry, lasora, grape, bael, guava, jack fruit, guava and other fruit crops etc. vegetable crops like potato, tomato, cabbage, curcurbits, turmeric etc. ornamental crops like philodendron, gerbera, rose, orchid, bamboo and other so many ornamental plants are included in this book. Besides micro propagation of different horticultural crops its covers WTO in horticultural produce, climate change in horticulture, constraints in horticultural development and its management, quality vegetable seed production of quality fruit planting materials, use of plant growth regulators in plant propagation etc. This book is written in simple, easy to understand language which will be highly useful to the students, teachers, researchers, extension personals and progressive horticulturist.
