In past few years, vegetable production has attained greater significance in he world trade, and with high-income suppleness, the demand for vegetables has increased. Several countries in last decade have evolved explicit policies for crop diversification with emphasis on vegetable crops. The country has also made tremendous progress in the adoption of vegetable cultivation, and thus, the consumption of vegetables per caput per day has increased. Keeping in view the importance of current basics in vegetable production, the author deemed indispensable to prepare a book on modern concepts of vegetable production. This book is self-contained document and well prepared aimed at imparting knowledge in systematic manner to the researchers, teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students and vegetable growers in the field of vegetable production and will prove to be a milestone to its reader.
