"IT is widely deplored that moral values have fallen before the march of civilisation and the ethics of the modern world have made the moral values of the past redundant. However, this is not the case. The morality of the past is eternal and its values will remain constant for ages. Also, its role in the shaping and building of the character and personality of the individual cannot be denied. It has been seen that modern youth is becoming wayward and intolerant and the growing generations are devoid of the morals and values that made the world what it is today. Education, now job-oriented and vocation-guided, seems to consider moral education at the lowest of priorities.
It is to this end that this book has been planned. It is an attempt to help educationists, education administrators and teachers with guidelines and suggestions to encourage students to imbibe moral tenets and values.
Being comprehensive, this book will definitely be of great help to all those concerned and engaged in the noble vocation of turning our young students into responsible citizens to be an asset to the nation." (jacket)
