"The book \'Mother Teresa - A Symbol of Compassion \' is a biographical sketch of Mother Teresa\'s life. The readers will follow Agnes Gonxha Bojazhiu from her humble Albanian birth to worldwide celebrity as Mother Teresa.
This book narrates on her efforts in founding her order, the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, its expansion and the eventual attention Mother Teresa received throughout the world. The narrative chronicles most of the significant events in her life and her devotion to serving the poorest of the poor and seeing Jesus in the face of every human she encountered.
An attempt is also made to compile the numerous awards and recognition she received, including the Nobel Prize in 1979, in this book.
A chapter on beatification of Mother Teresa and her possible road to sainthood is also included.
Mother Teresa\'s speeches, stories and prayers are also compiled in the last section of the book." (jacket)
