"Even in the developed countries of the west including America a large population of students is increasing which is not interested in learning. There may be many causes for lack of motivation on the part of the students, but basically there are two things which are important; that curriculum of the school is very monotonous and un-interesting and also the methods of teaching of the teachers are least impressive. Under these circumstances, it is highly imperative that the learners are motivated to acquire knowledge and learning skills out of their own interest. Since long it has been the problem and need of teachers to find out ways of motivating their learners. It has been rightly said that knowledge is one which inspires the learner. Inspiration for learning is a great factor in the process of learning." (jacket)
