"The present study 'Multimedia in Education' pleads that multimedia can help teachers and learners with its range of technologies though in the present day school education, the primary source of imparting knowledge remains the textbooks.

Existing system poses numerous limitations, particularly in the context of history, geography on the other subjects which come under the ambit of humanities. Such subjects would be better taught supported by video and had education tours combined with visits to places or archeological or historical visits. But the truth remains that such privileges can only be afforded by schools having ample financial resources.

Multi media has enormous potential from the view of self-based learning and can serve as an independent, complimentary tool for enhancing the learning process.

Covering a wide plethora of issues in context of the use of multimedia in education, the book is an invaluable guide for educationists." (jacket)
