The word craft has been differentiated from the technique on the basis of its use. Craft is characterized by its reliance on simple tools and manual skills, by its personal expertise, by being limited to a narrow range of processes etc. While, technique is characterized by its greater reliance on hand-operated machine, by its being less personal and more standardized, by its application to a wider range processes etc. From Quintuionto Cuisenaire, of course, teachers have used blackboard and chalk, the state, the wall-map, the stand tray etc. to help pupils to learn. But in the scientific age new technical devices like radio, and television sets, film projects, epidiascope, record players and tape recorders are used in teaching.
