Parsee Voices in Indian Fiction in English

Parsees in India, even though a micro community, possess a distinct identity and culture. Unlike other communities,this community has striven hard to preserve, sustain, and enhance their culture. Their presence in Indian Writing in English is remarkable and their voices are audible within and outside India. Many Parsee litterateurs like Rohinton Mistry, Boman Desai, Dina Mehta, Thrity Umrigar, Firdaus Kanga, Bapsi Sidhwa, Ardashir Vakil, Meher Pestonjee, Saros Cowasjee, Cyrus Mistry, Gieve Patel, Farrukh Dhondy, Adil Jussawalla, Meher Pestonjee, Nergis Dalal,Perin Bharucha, among many others, have carved a distinct literary identity of and for their community at the glocal level and have made people aware of the problems and culture of their community.The present anthology is a compilation of papers dealing mainly with Parsee fiction in English and short stories. The paper scan serve as reference point to all those who are interested in an indepth study of Parsee fiction in English.
