"Bowling appears to consist of the very simple manoeuvre of rolling a large, heavy ball down a wooden lane at a grouping of ten wooden pins set up in triangular formation at the end of the lane. But bowling, as a game, is deceptive. It calls for a high degree of proficiency, is challenging to the most skillful, yet it interests everyone.

The object of the game is to knock down as many pins as possible in ten frames. Each frame involves one or two attempts, and the score is the total number of pins knocked down in the ten frames. A perfect game of 300 is scored by knocking down all pins with the first ball rolled in each frame, and then strikes for both additional bonus balls in the tenth frame.

Play and Learn Bowling outlines all the aspects of Bowling viz., history, skills and latest rules along with new court dimensions and measurements. The texts of the book are being written in simple colloquial English.

Hopefully, the present book will prove very useful for the athletes, sportsperson, prospective coaches, teachers and students of physical education etc." (jacket)
