"Handball is sometimes called a game which is mixture of two popular games namely Soccer and Basketball. This is a team game which is being played by two teams. It is organised indoors. The ball is passed in quickfire succession up the field until near the goal post. The current game evolved from several different versions played around the world.

In Germany an outdoor version with eleven players on each team gained some popularity at the same time as a seven-a-side game was being developed in USSR. It was the Dutch version that had the first success on the international stage, with a demonstration given in Amsterdam during the Olympic Games of 1928.

Play and Learn Handball is written with a great effort while keeping all kinds of readers in the mind. Author has included the history of the game as an introduction to all the readers that in which circumstances event came into being. Then, he described the skills and techniques of the game which includes both the basic and advance skill. After describing this, he came onto the rules of the game without knowing which, one cannot participate in the game. In this way, a sequence has been adopted by the author to make it easy for the reader to understand this thrilling game." (jacket)
