"Women Gymnastics is a sport in which women contestants or teams compete by performing routines, either compulsory, optional or both, the following four events: balance beam; floor exercise; uneven parallel bars and side horse vault.

These four events are the ones included in competition throughout the world. In the United States, two other events are included in many gymnastic competitions. The definition therefore might be modified to read six events with tumbling and trampoline being added to the four international events. The reason for including this definition here is to emphasize that gymnastics is a competitive sport with a definite list of events and specific rules.

Play and Learn Women Gymnastics discusses all the aspects of women gymnastics and its exercises. All the latest court dimensions, measurements and rules of women gymnastics events are given in this book which plays an important role in understanding women gymnastics events.

In this way, the present study has all the essential ingredients which a professional beginner, coach, student and learner needs." (jacket)
