"This is a pioneering and explorative study on the problem of child labour manifested in various states of India with special emphasis on the tribal concentrated districts of Orissa. The study aimed at examining the socio-economic plight of street children found in Indian cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Kanpur. Besides, the study focus light on the problems of girls child, their inhuman exploitation, declining sex-ratio, prostitution along with legislative enactments. The field study conducted by interview and questionnaire technique provides insights to the problems of migrant child labour and their living standards.
