This book is an attempt to add more dimensions to Heaney's Creativity. This book deals with a critique of Heaney's key volumes - Death of a Naturalist (1966), Door into the Dark (1969), Wintering Out (1972), North (1975), The Haw Lantern (1987), Seeing Things (1991), The Spirit Level (1996), Electric Light (2001) and District Circle (2006). Heaney's (In)tensions as reflected in his poems are also featured in this volume . He grew up in Northern Ireland during its turbulent times, his poems echo the times, especially the tussle between Catholics and Protestants. His earlier works deal with the local picturesque natural surroundings, he was always guilt- ridden that he did not take up the profession of his ancestors. In Heaney we find the in (tensions) between Nature and Culture, though -Heaney leans more towards Nature. He emulates Wordsworth but his muses are many, and in due course he became a celebrated Universal poet, dabbling in contemporary problems.
