"The projections of Charles Darwin seems true as the picture is gloomy even with best of the efforts of the world to control its fast growing population. Child boon continues to hamper the results of checking the population in effective way. It is hypothesised that education of young girls/women and career planning of the women are prominent factors which are bound to affect the growth of population in a desirable way. The present study shows that young girls/women studying in higher education system are becoming more and more conscious about the small family norms because of their exposure to modernization and mass media. It has also revealed that educated women having various career plans behave differently towards this area of crucial importance i.e. population explosion." (jacket)
