Privileging Women Agency in History
This book is the collection of articles presented at a National Seminar on Privileging Women Agency in History: Work, Worship, Leisure and Pleasure held in Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2008. The attempt here is not being judgemental about women. This book attempts to bring into focus how women were making their own spaces and carving their roles in taking the society forward. It narrates their struggles to make their lives meaningful. Their valuable contribution to intellectual world through writings on spiritual and sensual subjects are challenging. Portraits of women in public affairs bring out how women exercised their power successfully. Their active role in production activity speaks about their energy making their presence felt in otherwise patriarchal society. This book deals with several issues pertaining to women like how they viewed their \'being\' and \'doing\'.
