In order to increase the production and productivity of vegetables in India, there is an urgent need for development of a suitable literature in the form of a book dealing with recent technologies on various aspects of important tropical and sub-tropical vegetables crops. The book production technology of tropical and sub tropical vegetable crops has been compiled by the authors as per the fourth dean committee recommendation of ICAR, New Delhi.
The authors have tried together to incorporate most of the information available on cultivation practices varieties released by different ICAR institutes and SAUs as well as other important aspects of vegetable production based on research results.
The unique features of this book are that special attention has been focused on different practical aspects of vegetable cultivation in India in a very simple language and easy to understand style, which definitely fulfill the requirements of Olericulture students. The whole text has been written in bullet form for better understanding of the readers. Inclusion of general features of important vegetable crop groups is an additional benefit of this book. The major vegetable crops included in this book are Solanaceous fruit vegetables okra cucurbitaceous vegetables pod vegetables leafy vegetables as well as tree vegetables grown in tropical and sub-tropical regions of India.
