Quality In Higher Education

Education is the prime mechanism in generating Knowledge, and the importance of education can only grow so long social aim of education is achieved. Since individual is everywhere and always wedged up in a convoluted network of social relations making each individual socially efficient has been emphasized as the social aim of education, Social efficiency in individual is achieved by the positive use of one\'s power and capacity in social occupations, which makes him able to earn his livelihood conforming to moral and social standards of conduct. Generation of positive manpower, equipped with human and social values requires integrated skills, social character, leadership, creativity and innovation which demand a network of infrastructure known as institutions of higher learning. This edited volume is a collection of papers presented by the resource persons in this field at the UGC sponsored national seminar held on 25th and 26th March 2008, organized by Bir Bikram Memorial College, Agartala, The collections have attempted to address the issue of Quality in Higher Education form wide range of views.
