Reproductive Rights and Women Empowerment
The most significant pre-requisite of women\'s empowerment is their reproductive rights. These rights are the basic and measurable/component of human rights. This two-pronged significance of women\'s right to possess sound productive health makes imperative to examine the status of women in exercising these rights hence, this study. There are co-relates which establish that unless women enjoy the reproductive rights, they cannot be empowered in order to exert roles in social, political and economic domain. It is their reproductive health that drags them behind their male counterparts. Under the influence of this dominant assumption, the present research examines the level of awareness of reproductive health and rights, gender based discrimination and degree of exercising reproductive rights by the adolescent girls.
