The primary responsibility of the investigator is to adopt the appropriate experimental methodology before proceeding with data collection. Most research in physical education has taken place in what may be defined as a research laboratory and has exployed the experimental method. Such as assessment does not imply that this is desirable for it should be clear that all ferms of research endorsed provided they are done properly. A number of experimental methods maybe employed in research. The stabilometer has been used in studies of motor learning and motor performance sometimes as a measure of balance but more recently it has been utilised in the study of motor learning itself. One of the widely used devices to assess nutritional status is the wetzel grid developed to study the individual differences in the growth of children and to provide a guide to adequate overall growth.
