The book entitled Retail Business Management  critically examines the concept of retailing in the age of technology. The very first chapter investigates in detail the reasons for retail revolution and also discusses the different types of retailers. Linkage between partnership and a high quality customer service, channel partnerships, governance mechanism, marketing orientation and trust in partnership have been the part of the second chapter.

Retailing is a dynamic enterprise and retailers normally fall in one of the four segments like innovative, big-middle, low-price and in-trouble. This aspect of retailing has been covered in the third chapter. One of the important issues in retail business management recently has been the proper understanding of retail customers. Fourth chapter makes a comprehensive study of retail customer.

Retail location is playing an important role in the operation of retail business. Therefore, the study of the various factors determining retail location is the part of the fifth chapter.

Development of retail planning, direct retail produce marketing, product management in a retail business and retail and wholesale transmission markets have been discussed and analysed in chapters six, seven, eight and nine respectively. Electronic commerce is playing a major role in the retail and wholesale trade. This aspect has been examined in the tenth chapter.
