In Post liberalization period, commercial banks have entered the field of farm financing in a big way. With the increasing modernization of agriculture in our country, commercial banks, especially the public sector banks, have been striving to provide financial assistance to entire spectrum of agricultural operations as also for allied activities such as dairying, piggery, poultry farming, sericulture, etc. They have also been providing term loans for development purposes in an increasing amount.
