Dairy farming in India is coming in a big way from traditional style to highly mechanized way. Presently, India has the largest bovine population with 1924.9 lakh cattle and 1098.5 lakh buffaloes and also ranked number one in milk production in the world. Nutrition being axis of dairy, play pivotal role in profitability of farm us it influence production, reproduction and prevent diseases either directly or indirectly through boosting immunity to fight with diseases causing organism. In Present scenario, role of nutrition as whole and nutrient as individual goes much beyond the simple growth and milk production to a level of immune-modulation, disease prevention and disease treatment (Nutraceutical)
