The present study is intends to enhance the existing knowledge with regard to the functioning of the primary health care system with special reference to the rural health infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh in general and in Visakhapatnam district in particular. Besides, the observations of this study will be useful for the students, public health programme managers, research workers and the policy makers and planners. If the observations of the study are taken into consideration in providing decent health and medical care to the millions of people living in rural, tribal and urban areas, there will not be any better reward than that."
