"The Sedges and Grasses of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts of Karnataka is an important publication in the taxonomy of these two highly specialized groups of flowering plants. The book is based on several years of field and laboratory studies. This book contains descriptions of 74 species of sedges belonging to 16 genera and 158 species of grasses belonging to 72 genera. The book also has 99 plates of carefully prepared illustrations. This should enable easy identification of the species one may collect in the coastal districts of Karnataka.
