D.H. Lawrence faced much controversy throughout his entire career. Due to his use of sexuality and spontaneous situations, he was banned from many schools and libraries. His works including poetry, essays, literature, paintings and more encompassed the modernization and industrialization of the world at that time. He earned many enemies and censors. By the time of his death, his reputation was comparable to that of a pornographer. Conservatives and feminists continue to object to his outlandish and objectifying ways.
