The state of Jharkhand is a recent phenomenon, established in November-2000 A.D. which is inhabited mostly by the aboriginals like the Santals, the Mundas, the Bhumijs, the Oraons and the like. These people are the toilers who could not change their lifestyle till the time of independence of India from the British yoke.

Social and Cultural Life of Jharkhand - Tales depicts the social and cultural lifestyle of the Jharkhandis with their traditional beliefs, struggles from existence and their hankering for lands etc. fifty years back although the picture does not vary much.

The present book is in the form of story telling yet the stories are not at all imaginary but based on reality mostly on the life of the people of Jharkhand who are now in progress in their newly formed state.
