Social Exclusion and Women Entrepreneurs: A Study of Informal Sector in KAVAL

The present book seeks to examine the problems of women entrepreneurs and social exclusion in informal sector of Uttar Pradesh. The book discusses the demographic and socio-economic background of women entrepreneurs working in informal sector in KAVAL cities. As, these features highly affect the performance of women entrepreneurs and their choice towards their entrepreneurial activities. This book also raises some of the radical questions i.e. purdha system, family planning, gender discrimination and violence etc. as these aspects throw light on the status of women entrepreneurs in their family as well as in the society. The author has offered a number of very relevant suggestions, which, if implemented, would be helpful for policy makers in upgradation of the situation of women entrepreneurs working in informal sector. Through this book an attempt has been made to lay stress on certain vital issues that needed a more serious discussion. To large extent, the book can be regarded as pioneering one.
