The field of social welfare administration is challenging and arduous as it has to struggle for providing disadvantaged people social justice and empowerment. The main objective of planned social welfare and development and its promotion is to mobilise the total material and human resources so as to improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries who have to be upgraded from the poverty line. This indicates that the field of social welfare administration encompasses practically all facets of developmental administration. The prevailing gaps in socio-economic status between SCs, STs and other disadvantaged groups vis-a-uis the rest of the population need to be speedily bridged by taking innovative measures. This book has examined the maladies of social welfare administration, the factors affecting its status and the lacunae in management processes, along with alternative propositions for solving the problems. The book has thrown light on the implementation of social welfare programmes.
