Social work intervention research attempts to provide knowledge about what interventions help or hinder the attainment of social work goals.

Besides providing an introduction to social work intervention research, the book covers a range of intervention research designs and its process. Further, it also presents procedures of conducting social work intervention research in a context that will enable social work researchers, educators, practitioners and students to select appropriate intervention research strategies based on their relative merits and limitations and undertake social work intervention research projects.

It provides an introduction to pre-experimental and quasi-experimental research designs and discusses the steps in designing and conducting social work intervention research studies using these research designs.

This book contains eight chapters. Each chapter includes illustrations from social work practice, which discusses various stages of social work intervention research and seven research studies which used different intervention research designs undertaken by social work educators and practitioners.

The book would help social work students, educators and practitioners to learn the application of social work intervention research methods and techniques in social work practice.
