Higher education occupies an important place and helps in developing the cream of society a select group of individuals physically intellectually, emotionally and socially.

The present study intends to measure the Internal and External locus of control, level of achievement motivation and the status and nature of attitude, broadly called the modernity attitude covering certain aspects like religion, marriage, family, status of women in the society and education. It also tries to analyse the inter relationship existing among the three variables viz. Locus of control, achievement motivation and modernity attitude in the students and also in relation to the students socioeconomic status, sex, educational level and the faculties to which attached.
