Sriharsa\'s Naisadhacaritam (A Socio-Cultural Study)

This is well known that Sriharsa was one of the greatest poets and his Naisdhacaritam is still a very popular mahakavya in the arena of Sanskrit Literature. The epic is a great store house of religious, philosophical, historical, social and political information of ancient India of 12th century A.D. The present work is a systematic work dealing exclusively with a socio-culture study of the mahakavya called Naisadhacaritam. Subjects like caste system, marriage, education, music, dance, art, food, drink, games, position of woman, religious customs, political aspects and many more things of the Indian society of 12th century A.D. are discussed in this work.
