This book “Sustainable Routes of Poverty Eradication: Past Experiences and Future Challenges”, which has tremendous importance at this present period. After independence the conditions of poverty line was critically analyzed as per different reports and Committees. The sustainable way out of poverty is more likely to succeed in presence of policies and institutions conductive to redistribution before growth and with growth. Development (basically, inclusive development) strategies for the poor countries therefore must concentrate on sustainable route out of poverty. The Rangarajan Report, 2014 stated that poverty line should be based on standard level criteria of expenditure on adequate nutrition, clothes, rent value of home, conveyance of education and other non-fund expenditure.
