"Hurdling is rhythmical sprinting and should be done with as little deviation from sprinting as possible. Hurdling must be looked upon as a special form of sprinting. In fact it is every fourth stride in the sprint hurdle race which is different from the others, but the movements have to be performed in as near the same time as the sprinting stride as possible. Hurdling is an individual event in any international contest viz., Olympic, Asian and Commonwealth Games be an event in which athlete runs as fast as possible between the hurdles and leap over the barriers in a variety of styles.
The present book entitled Teach Yourself Hurdling deals with all aspects of Hurdling viz., historical background, skills and techniques, and rules. The texts are arranged in a lucid form and being written in simple colloquial English.
In this way, the present book has wide scope for the new aspirant athletes especially Hurdlers who wish to develop and sharpen their Hurdling skills, athletes, students and teachers of physical education and sports etc." (jacket)
