"India attained independence on 15 August 1947. A period of about 60 years has passed. There is no doubt that India has progressed in many directions and has attained self-sufficiency in food, clothing and to some extent in shelter also. There has been great industrial development in the country and many new industrialists and capitalists have come up with huge capital in millions at their command. Unfortunately, due to population increase from 21 crores at the beginning of the independence to 120 crores at present, this population explosion has created problems of corruption, crime and violence. The constitution and other administrative institutions have only helped the strong. While as the poor and the weaker sections have been hit hard by the emerging industrialists, capitalists, and big land-lords and the politicians and the bureaucrats. While as there are many political scandals in which many political parties were involved and they had embezzled and mis-appropriated millions of rupees of the government, no action could be taken against the guilty so far in the history of independent India. In the rural areas the big land-lords who are mostly operating through their agents have amassed lot of wealth and the advantages of the planning of agriculture, new seeds, fertilisers and extension services have only been cornered by these landlords and the poor who are farmers and agricultural labour have been able to make their subsistence only.

The beginning of the civil war in India is not very far off. The war clouds are hovering on India and may burst any time causing havoc and disintegration of the country." (jacket)
