From the Foreword: "The book, \'The Exiled\', besides reflecting various aspects of Kashmir issue is essentially a specialized study and empirical research into Kashmiri Pandit problems which appear to be intertwined with the Kashmir issue, though in reality their causes and aims are not synergic. The problems of Kashmiri Pandits originated with the advent of alien Muslims into the valley since the middle of the fourteenth century and have continued to torment the community with dormant moments waiting to erupt on the availability of the first opportunity. It has a long history with a determined intent behind it in the context of the contemporary South Asian development. The expansionist Islamic crusades have had a long and ruthless history behind them besides their predetermined intent.
This work will be highly useful in placing Pandit problem before the Indian and international citizenry. This volume with an incredible collection and application of data will clear the haze around the complex Kashmir problem and a fact based genuine view at national and transnational levels about the distinct issue of the indigenous people of Kashmir - the Kashmiri Pandits, will emerge. This work will be immensely helpful in developing a new understanding about the emerging Jihadist phenomenon in Kashmir which has the capacity to transcend J and K borders and threaten the communal harmony and solidarity of the entire country. The book has potential to help in understanding the conflict and turmoil caused by Muslim fundamentalism in the valley."
