Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery was built by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche on the sacred site of Takmo Lujin (Offering Generously to the Tigress), also known as Namo Buddha, in Nepal. It is here in a past life that the Buddha perfected generosity. The monastery fosters meditation practice in its retreat centers and ritual practices in the main shrine hall. Education is promoted through an institute for higher Buddhist studies and a school for the younger monks. They all engage as well as in the variety of tasks that sustain a large monastic community. Senior monks travel abroad to teach at Thrangu Rinpoches’s numerous centers around the world.
