The Muslim community is undoubtedly an important and inseparable part of Nepalese community. The community has thrived and flourished in Nepal over the last 500 years. This book is an organised effort to put together all the information in a meaningful manner. This will provide source of information to young and seasoned scholars alike and help them in developing their thoughts further in the subject.

Muslims are alienated in virtually most of the non-Muslim majority countries. Muslim community in Nepal has set an example of living with the other non-Muslim majority community and gel well with them too. In many a ways the Nepalese Muslim community has not only lived in harmony but also adopted many popular cultural beliefs to create a sense of trust amongst the Hindu Majority neighbours.

The village Muslims are in the verge of a cultural collapse. Penetration of the Hindu culture as well as a long gap in religious interaction with their counterparts, low number of Muslim population in isolated remote Muslim village and Hindu fundamentalism all compelled Muslims to live in miserable and weak religious and cultural conditions.

How far the Muslims of Nepal would integrate in the national mainstream and join the national building program under a new political environment?
