Set in Upper Assam, at first glance The Road Alone appears to be the saga that a river is born with running through cascading episodes that unfold the perplexities of life, its purposes; evident one moment, elusive the other. It is a torrent of emotions that molds the psyche of the inhabitants settled across its either banks playing hide and seek in their trysts with living a life inherited with semblances which exemplify a journey that the protagonist Ajoi makes during his indecisive sojourn amid extremists albeit with hindrances and umpteen mood swings while trapped in the misconception for a liberated land.
