"Every knowledge has got its social origin, cultural transmission and community entitlement. India is a great nation not because of her material wealth, it\'s certainly because of her wealth of knowledge of culture. Amidst a huge bio-diversity, she has built up an epitome of wisdom across the space and time. Her agriculture is created by wisdom of people and supported by rural skills over centuries. The hidden flow of traditional knowledge has gone extremely determining in training the frenzy modernization of agriculture into a quiet sustainable livelihood to be eked out by poor knowledge rich people.

The present world is increasingly reeling under the threats of poverty, ecological decadence and global warming. This may beget more of hunger and social entropy. With this stench of reality, the rich tradition of agriculture, food and knowledge of North East India\'s could present an alternative farming system blessed with the local knowledge to sustain biodiversity and pristine productivity. So also, the entire world would be culturally and intellectually hunting for this kind of food, knowledge and agriculture to make the world free of hunger, stress and unrest.

The present book has been a splendid effort for a research based documentation, configuration and analysis of traditional agriculture, food and knowledge of a three North-East States viz. Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. This book volume, in addition to focused areas, has also included the unique demographic composition and geographical locations of these beauteous forms of nature and lives along with illustrations of photographs.
