Trends and Movements in Indian Writing in English is a humble attempt to explore and examine the various trends and movements which crept naturally in Indian writing in English after independence. The common trends which we often see are concerned with feminine sensibility, Gandhian impact, east-west encounter, mysticism spiritualism, Dalit and Subaltern sensibilities, subversion of patriarchy, psychological exploration of inner mind of the suffering and persecuted men and women and above all the social and cultural consciousness. The present book is a collection of more than a dozen standard research papers contributed by different scholars who have tried their best to analyse and elucidate the various aspects of post-colonial trends and movement s in Indian writing in English.
