From the Foreword: The present work, wherein some of the earlier articles are amalgamated, includes some thought-provoking topics related to twentieth Century Sanskrit Dramas -- the charm and novelty of many of which remained shrouded in darkness, if Prof. Chattopadhyay did not attempt to study and evaluate the theme, language, style, technique etc. of these almost neglected but interesting literary pieces. Prof. Chattopadhyay is well acquainted with the trend of modern English and Bengali dramas and this quality has helped her to penetrate into and compare the dramatic themes in the spheres of the above mentioned three major languages."
