"The volume focuses on the growing concern of academia for urban environmental management. The volume throws light on issues associated with urbanization in rapidly growing economy, highlighting potential synergies and conflicts between competing and conflicting goals.
The urban environment in the volume highlights the physical environment in urban areas with its complex mix of natural elements and built environment, i.e. physical environment constructed and modified for human habitation as well as for their economic activity.
