"On 14-15 December, 1995, Joint Women\'s Programme in collaboration with the National Commission for women organised a national workshop on "Women and children in prostitution : human rights perspectives". The profile of the 115 odd participants at the workshop ranged from representatives of the government, lawyers and social activists to women active in commercial sex work. This book is an edited version of the transcribed audiorecording of the proceedings of the workshop. The reporting has been deliberately structured in the form of presentations followed by discussions in order to convey the participatory nature of the workshop sessions." (jacket)
