"Joint Forest Management (JFM) concept was derived out of the concerns that there should be a suitable forest policy where communities can playa vital role in the forest management. Addressing the equity concerns, especially those concerned with women forest dependents is an important objective of JFM.

In the above context, this study focuses on the role of the women in forestry/JFM, impact of JFM on forests in general and the status of women in particular in two different settings of Andhra Pradesh. This study brought out some very interesting issues related to the subject along with analyzed findings.
