Entrepreneurship development is buzzword and action point all throughout the world for economic development, growth, and tackling the problems of ever increasing unemployment. Lot of research work is being carried out all over the world; a number of seminars, conferences and colloquia are being organized. But need of the hour is to make more strenuous and fervent efforts through individuals’ ideas and thinking and teaming several heads together for formulating concrete strategies for spearheading the entrepreneurship movement. A national conference was organized by EDIC department of NITTTR Chandigarh from 17 19 November, 2008 which focused on women entrepreneurship and management of SMEs. This document is an edited compilation of papers presented during the conference. We hope this will go a long way in motivating readers to cultivate further enthusiasm towards this movement in the country.
